Tree Service in Lawrence, KS

Kansas has no statewide license for tree removal, so across most of the state a truck, a saw, and a business card are the whole barrier to entry. Lawrence is an exception. Chapter XVIII of the city code makes it unlawful to engage in the business of cutting, tree trimming, pruning, removing, spraying, or otherwise treating trees inside the city without first obtaining a license from the City Clerk. Applicants get examined on their qualifications by the Parks, Recreation and Culture director or a designee. The city publishes a list of who holds one.
