Tree work done by people who know the trees here
Northeast Kansas has its own problems. Emerald ash borer is established across Douglas and Shawnee counties, pine wilt has taken most of the Scots pine windbreaks, and the silver maple planted everywhere in the fifties is the species most likely to drop a limb in a June storm.

How we work
Six things you can hold us to
Not a mission statement. These are the specific commitments that show up on every quote we write.
One price, written before we start
You get the number on paper before any work begins, and plenty of visits end with a trim instead of a removal.
No surprise charges
If the crew finds rot or a hazard once the work starts, we stop and call you before anything changes.
Your property gets protected
Plywood and mats wherever a machine crosses turf. Drop zones planned around what is underneath. On soft ground after rain we reschedule rather than rut a lawn, even when that costs us the day.
Cleanup is included, not an upsell
Chips, limbs, and rounds leave with us, and the work area gets raked and blown down. If you burn firewood, tell us and we will cut the trunk into rounds and stack them for free.
We will talk you out of work
Plenty of calls end with a reduction instead of a removal, or a note to look at the tree again in two years. A tree service that only ever recommends removal is not diagnosing, it is selling.
We stop and call before anything changes
If the saw opens up rot the quote did not account for, the work stops and you get a phone call. You decide what happens next, and nothing gets added to the number without you agreeing to it first.
Why we will not top a tree
Topping means cutting a trunk or main leader back to a stub, and it is still the most commonly requested tree service in Kansas. It is also the one thing we turn down.
A stub cannot close over. The wound stays open, decay moves down into the trunk, and the tree responds by pushing out a dense flush of shoots attached only to the outer layer of wood. Those shoots grow fast, look healthy, and snap in the first real wind. Five years after a topping you have a larger, weaker, more expensive problem than the one you paid to solve.
If a tree genuinely has outgrown its spot, a crown reduction gets you the same clearance by cutting back to living lateral branches that can take over. It costs more and takes longer, and it is the version worth paying for. If the tree is too far gone for that, we will say so and quote the removal instead.
Same owners
The rest of the family
Trees are what we do, and they are all we do. When a job needs something outside that, it goes to the crew that only does that thing. Shared ownership, separate crews, separate trades.

We come look at it
We walk the property, check access, and write the quote on site. Free, and you do not need to be home. Tree removal, tree trimming, and stump grinding all get quoted that way.

We do the work and clean up
Crew arrives in the window we quoted. Chips, limbs, and debris leave with us unless you want them kept. Storm jobs follow emergency tree removal first, then cleanup.
In a hurry? Call (785) 371-4859 and skip all three.
